aekastar: (gangsinesplosion!)
I finished downloading it tonight (I started last week then promptly forgot to finish; the user left and I had troubles finding a new one that night). at first I wasn't sure what I thought (well, it reminded me too much of the other dark folk-y stuff out there like micah p. hinson and bonnie 'prince' billy. that was mostly my impression after heaing 'i died of death').

It is more diverse than I initially realised and I do believe once I hear it all together instead of track by track, it'll seem more lovely. I have yet to burn a copy... I'm considering just putting it on my wishlist and hoping someone gets it for me for my bday (no this isn't a cue for everyone to volunteer nor a hint of greed... I mean family does look at it for those purposes. of course, if you wanted to... *ahem*) since I promised no more purchases from here on out till afterwards.

Here is my favourite track right off: plim plom autumn song
The piano and whistling (?) is quite lovely.

This review was attached with the download though there are many out there including, well, the all popular pitchforkmedia which gave it a decent mark.

Thanks to amadeep for mentioning this album the other week from which I probably wouldn't have downloaded it otherwise!
...at least not right off
