This year, I decided I was just going to play an album association game instead of going into great detail like I usually do (though I kinda broke this rule a slight tad on the top two and added detail to the words). it's a lot more efficient and still at least kinda makes it interesting.

#10

Menomena - Friend and Foe [Barsuk]

#01

The National - Boxer [Beggars Banquet]
Album Association: choreographed dancing (see, you just do a flip over the couch, toss some money, stand in a corner and...), classiness, not one boring note on it
Sample: Slow Show

* If any of the samples don't work for whatever reason, let me know

Others:
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky (kinda like it now)
Bill Callahan - Woke On A Whaleheart
El Hijo - Las Otras Vidas
LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid - Tongues
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (didn't like it till the npr concert recording)
Porn Sword Tobacco - New Exclusive Olympic Heights
Boxcutter - Glyphic
Gravenhurst - The Western Lands

Top 5 Songs:
05. Bill Callahan - Night
04. Robert Wyatt - Just As You Are
03. Gravenhurst - Trust
02. Thee More Shallows - Night at the Knight School
01. Arcade Fire - Ocean of Noise

Top 5 Disappointments
05. Thee More Shallows - Book of Bad Breaks
Oh, that single gave such promise... I bought the album without even thinking and only listened to it once!
04. explosions in the sky - all of a sudden I miss everyone
Again, even with the special 2 disc version with remixes, I barely listened to it again after the first time. I guess they really can become repetitive.
03. Múm- Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy
I should've listened to the warnings that they were too peppy / happy this year. maybe it'll grow on me, but it's not even the same band!
02. Shearwater - Palo Santo (Reissue)
This one is notable considering that after hearing how much it changed in the new version, I had to go search out the old which at this point was out of print! I just didn't like the changes... also, the new cover art kinda scared me. I guess it is good enough for those who want to know the band and can't find the original. I found my copy through the amazon marketplace in case you're wondering!
01. Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha
I didn't even want to buy this album! I really wanted to like it since others said it was better than the past ones, but.... I just found it boring. sorry. the Mysterious Production of Eggs is still my jam.

Anyway, have a happy new year everyone!

Also, hooray! Two of the CDs I gave you for your birthday made the list (one at #1 and one at honorable mention)! Though I'm pretty sure you already had one or both downloaded. And it's not any great feat of mine, since you did pick them out for your wish list yourself and marked them as your top priorities. :-p

Hee! yes, that is all true (in fact, The National was my #1 album before I had a real copy... ahah!), but it was very nice and surprising to get them in the mail from you ;D

As for actually getting this up in time, yeah, it just took a few hours when I got up without eating or drinking first (this task causes procrastination generally), but the important thing is that yes, I finished it!

Heh. I know how that is!
It's hard to give every album its chance nowadays.

Thanks!
I credit you for the Sandro Perri addition :D
d'you happen to have the rest of that live EP? ahah.
